Beautiful Belgium

Belgium has four regions: Flanders, Wallonia, the German-speaking region and Brussels. Our official languages are: French, Dutch and and German. Even though less than 100 000 people speak German, it is considered an official language. Absolute nonsense! We’ve been fighting since our independence for this part, but it’s so small, it doesn’t add much value to the economics of our country.

Split

It’s seriously considered for Belgium to split in two. The question is now which region will get our capital. Brussels is our capital. It might look prestigious, because of all the international brands, businesses and departments, but Belgians know better. It has billions of debts. Wallonia isn’t doing great either. It is mainly funded by Flanders. If it wasn’t funded by Falnders, their taxes would be doubled. Their ideology is socialist that it no longer makes sense. Our motto of arms, unity makes power, is little proven or put into practice. Our government don’t seem to want to live by it, while, together we form a whole. More hands ease the job. Hopefully this expression is going to last.

Safety

There isn’t a lot of safety either. You must have heard about the well-know Marc Dutroux-case. The Dutroux-case has turned the world upside down. So much uproar has been made around it, globally. But that is only the tip of the iceberg of Belgian crime. Every year, 185 souls get murdered every year in this small country. Don’t even get me started on the charges that has been pressed against embezzlement. The tax authorities receive 150.000 reports of fraud each year. And the list could go on and on.
