Eating cake, the nice activities, the presents, the birthday cards,…

Doesn’t everybody loves birthdays? Because they are all about you. You are the center of the universe. But you are getting older and your day of birth gets farther away. Isn’t it beautiful to see yourself as the living proof of genuine and unconditional love between your parents? So how come so many happy couples divorce? Well, you’re welcome, I looked it up for you!

The main reasons are treason and unrealistic/ different expectations. Other claim their marriage failed because of a lack of love, intimacy, sympathy, respect, trust, equality or compatibility. Some couples broke up because they had communication issues or have grown apart. Some divorces were made because money or addictions were involved. We heard every story: drinking, gambling, smoking, working. Some weddings happened because they were to young or because a partner was thin at the time.  And although this part is the one I rather skip, some spouses had been abused, sexually harassed or lost their identity along the way. Of course there are some special cases, where a partner goes missing or behind bars. But the average marriage lasts 15 years, when, back in the days, a marriage lasted forever. I guess a happily ever after turns into a happily never after, which is something that puts the human specie to disgrace.
