Entrepreneurship

Lets learn some concepts by the greatest entrepreneurs of Belgium.

Ambition

Everyone must have heard of the term, but finds it hard to define: ambition. But, what exactly is it? Let’s find out!

Jeroen Poels – CEO of Deltaworx

The CEO of Deltaworkx confesses: ” I’m a pussy, when I need to be one, and harsh, when I need to be. People say you should be satisfied with what you already achieved. My reaction would be like: I bearly started. Being taken serious as an entrepreneur has always been a struggle. I always had to work twice as hard to get the same chances. Healthy stress does have an addictive effect. It still makes you spend that hour in the office, picking up that phone. Ambition can also be a dirty bit. In my opinion, you can never be too ambitious with your values and standards in mind. “

Tommaso Bordoni – CEO Bordoni

Tommaso Bordoni, the CEO of Bordoni, continues: “I very much want to be the best at what I do, having been able to make my passion, my profession. I want to get name recognition. I want my brand to be global. My primary goal is to expand my family and buy a castle. ”

Cilem Tunc – CEO of Tunc

Cilem Tunc, the CEO of Tunc, says: “ I don’t think you can ever be too ambitious, because it has a motivating effect and therefore takes you further. A call from the Kardashian family would be a dream come true for me. ”

Alexander Van Laer – CEO of Qallo

Alexander Van Laer, CEO of Qallo, tells us: “ I am very ambitious and dare to come out for it. It’s really kicking to know that nobody is going to do it in my place, that I have to solve it myself. Complexity makes decision-making fun and challenging. I kick at challenges. ”

Jill Cnudde – CEO of BBODY

Our fitness-icon, Jill Cnudde, reveals: “ When I give out my dreams, I am often not taken seriously. My business is really still in its starting shoes. I will never say it is already a mad success, because it is never enough for me. If I can dream wildly, I want to conquer LA. Then I think I can handle anything. ”

Gunther Ghysels – former CEO of Get Driven

Our Belgian pride, former CEO of Get Driven, tells us: “ I dare say I am very ambitious. I always want more, bigger, further and better. It’s the nature of the beast. I want to conquer the world with my company. Standing still is going backwards. Goals are really my red rags though. ”

Joyce & Raissa De Haas – CEO of Double Dutch

Our famous twin sisters tell: “It is now that we need to build our business to get rich from it later. The end goal really is become the new Coke. ”

Maria-Laura Raia – Photographer/ Model

Our photography genius, Maria-Laura Raia, narrates: “ I think I am 1 one of the most ambitious people you will ever meet. I remember when we ate Coco Pops at Christmas because we had no money. I didn’t tell anyone that because I was too proud and hopeful. I have always cherished that hope. I have done everything I can to make sure that doesn’t happen again and I will continue to do so. One day, you will see me on ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’. Ambition for me is just working on my passion, on my brand. I have always been the person to just jump and catch myself, though. ”

Stefano Pinna – professional gamer

Pinna says: “Social media is very important. I started too late with social media. At this point in my life, I’m not really looking for love. It’s not easy for me to find a lover, because I have to travel a lot for work now. I also deal with my work a lot and I need to find someone who can accept that and deal with that.”

Matthias Browaeys – CEO of The Harbour

The crowd-lending-genius reveals: “If you have the chance to take a risk, you should always do it, otherwise you will regret it later. You have to make sure you stand strong. In the business world, being a softie just gets you shot down. There is far too little risk-taking in the general job market these days.”

To conclude, ambition is a motivating feeling. It is a positive thing as long as the values and norms are kept in mind. Otherwise, it can turn into greed.

Teamwork

What is teamwork? What can boost positivity in a work place? Let’s find out!

Jeroen Poels – CEO of Deltaworx

Jeroen Poels: I don’t give compliments, quite on the contrary. But when I give them, they are sincere. So that might have its value too. I want employees to feel good about where they work, because they spend the majority of their time at work. We are not superheroes, on the contrary. We are people who work really hard and above all, just human beings. I don’t have all the wisdom, I’m still young, so I try to surround myself with people who already have more experience.

Support

Cilem Tunc – CEO of Cilem Tunc

Cilem Tunc: My parents are actually very proud, but I think that’s true for all parents. My parents have always helped me financially and mentally. They are always there for me.

Tommaso Bordoni – CEO of Bordoni

Tommaso Bordoni says: I do believe my mom is proud of me. Every mom is proud of her child, right?

Risks

Alexander Van Laer – CEO of Qallo

Alexander Van Laer: “There are often just risks involved in being an entrepreneur, but wonderful things can come out of that. You just have to do it. There are people who always hesitate and never take the leap of fear.”

Mentoring

Maria-Laura Raia – photographer

Maria-Laura Raia: “I do not have a coach. I had a psychologist when I was 15,16, but it didn’t help me. But I think deep conversations with friends do help. I never really had support from my parents.”
