The 3 Life Goals You Will Regret Chasing

I have one addiction that I indulge in every single day…

I can’t go to sleep without eating cake.

No matter what, I have to make it – I’m craving it so much!

Last night, YouTube recommended a video that immediately caught my attention.

“7 life goals I now think are a waste of time – reflections of a 60-year old retired man”.

Intrigued I clicked -and let me tell you, it was worth every second. This video taught me invaluable lessons that made me stop and reflect.

But first, one big takeaway from this video: it stoof out in the crowded noise of social media.

Right now, chasing goals is the trend: set goals, hustle, achieve them.

But do we ever pause to ask ourselves if the goals we’re chasing are actually wort it?

Are they truly ours -or are they someone else’s expectations imposed on is?

That’s why this video title was so powerful. It flipped the script and challenged the popular narrative.

And that’s one way to stand out on social media: create content that goes against the grain.

Now, back to the video. Here are the 3 regrets that stood out to me:

  1. Spending money on ‘stuff’

Cars, houses, designer clothes…

Now, I agree that investing in quality -like a comfortable home, a reliable car, or well-made clothing- can improve your life.

But there’s a fina line. When you start buying things just to impress others, those possessions begin to own you, instead of the other way around.

So, a word of advice: Buy what you genuinely value, not what looks good on Instagram.

  1. Constantly chasing more money

There’s always going to be someone earning more than you.

It’s a never-ending race you can’t win.

I’ve felt it too. There were months when I made over €20K in my business. I should’ve been ecstatic -but then I’d see someone making double that, and I would think I’m not there yet, I can’t celebrate- Crazy, right?

If you’ve ever felt that way, let me remind you: progress matters more than comparison.

Whether you’re just starting out, making your first €100, or scaling to €10K/ month, focus on consistent improvement. Don’t get caught up in someone else’s race.

Remember, a lot of what you see online is fake anyway.

And even if it isn’t, ask yourself: Do I even want their life?

  1. Chasing fame for fame’s sake

There are different types of fame.

There’s the empty kind -where you go viral for silly dances or attention-seeking stunts.

And then there’s what I call quality fame.

This is the kind of recognition achieved by people like Naval Ravikant, Tim Ferriss, or Scott Adams.

They’re respected by a specific group of people who value their work. They’re not hounded by paparazzi or random strangers on the street.

Instead, they’ve built meaningful personal brands and impacted live.
