Women in Politics

Women’s equality rights have evolved a lot in the last century. Women can obtain driving licenses, their own car, their own credit cards and saving accounts, their own houses, go to college and university, found companies, enter the workforce and compete for the same roles as men, have maternity leave, have abortions and get divorces and child alimony, …

But what I want to talk about is the fact that women can also vote, and even go into politics. And you don’t just see them entering at local level, but at every level. I am so proud to see female senators, ministers and even prime ministers.

Let’s talk about those badass women!

First up is Ellen Johnson, married Sirleaf.

She led Liberia and vastly decreased poverty.

Next up is Sophie Wilmès.

Sophie Wilmès

She led Belgium in 2020 during the COVID-19 like a pro. Her speeches were still enforcing human connection in a responsible way during a lockdown and a period of isolation.

Third is Xiomara Castro.

From First Lady to President of Honduras, Castro shows you don’t beed to be a man to rule.
