Introduction
Having discipline with yourself makes you feel more confident because it makes you believe you can set a goal for yourself and succeed at it.
The gap between your current self and ideal self is called discipline.
Sometimes, when we look at that gap, it can look a little overwhelming, it can feel a little scary.
We look at it like it’s a transformation that needs to happen overnight, like a talent that you’re born with.
But it’s actually not.
What Is Discipline?
Discipline is the ability to control one’s behavior, stay focused on goals, and make consistent efforts to achieve them. It involves self-control, perseverance, and a commitment to follow through on tasks despite challenges or distractions.
It acquires a lot of mental strength to develop and maintain discipline. Mental strength can vary, but someone can be considered mentally weak if it struggles to cope with challenges, constantly dwell on negative thoughts or have difficulty adapting to adversity. Someone is mentally strong when they can navigate challenges, setbacks and stress with resilience.
Mental strength involves emotional regulation, adaptability, a positive mindset and the ability to persevere through difficulties.
It is important to approach this topic with empathy and understanding.
But there are a few steps you can take to build discipline.
Because like any other part of your body, the frontal lobe of your brain, the part where discipline gets developed, is a muscle you can train.
